Geocache Description:

The cache is under the flight path for Edinburgh airport and there are frequently planes overhead coming into land. Although the runway is quite close to here the planes are still 'Way up high'. The path from the car park follows the Forth's southerly shore-line from the causeway at Cramond Village along the Esplanade to Granton Point.

Landwards, over the fence, is a tranquil world of unspoilt meadowland and woodlands, grazing sheep and cattle in a rural setting that stretches up to Lauriston Castle. The path along the shore is fringed with sycamores, hawthorn, elder and ash trees. There are plenty of places to sit and watch the passing scene, with some covered seating in case of squalls.

Parking is available at N55 58.728 W3 17.996. From the car park its a short walk on 10m wide esplanade to the cache which is slightly off the main pathway.

This cache was one of 4 that were initially set for the Scottish Geocachers Days Out in January 2006. Unfortunately since then its been muggled and therefore it was been moved about 80m away and changed to a micro. The co-ordinates have been changed accordingly.
