Tracks Out Of Service Traditional Cache

These tracks have been out of service for quite some time. Access
to the tracks have been paved over for years!
I can barely remember these tracks being active. It must have been
25 years ago. I have been walking around these since I was a kid.
Now I sit at Starbucks and watch kids walk up and down them. I
recall talks about some sort of shuttle train many years ago, but I
don't think there was serious thought. I have always thought they
should make some sort of shuttle/lightrail from Santa Cruz to
Monterey. Not likely that will ever happen. Most the the tracks are
buried in the sand or are covered by iceplant now.
This area also has special meaning to me. A friend of the family
and a police reserve died in the line of duty in this area some
years back. Whenever I sit at the coffee shop across Del Monte, I
think of the times we had together.
You will be out in the open looking for this cache. No tree cover,
no buildings, nothing.
