Take a walk around this park and locate four stone art sculptures each representing the four elements: Water, Air, Fire and Earth. The coordinates above are for the first stone sculpture. The clues are hidden in the words on the rocks. When you get the letter in the word, convert it to a number using this key: A = 0 (zero), B = 1, C = 2 …and so on to…..Z = 25. Plug the numbers you find into the equation below.
Clue number 1: The element Water. Take the last letter of the longest word you find here (look very closely), convert it, it becomes Z below.
Clue number 2: Also at the element Water. Take the first letter of the Spanish word here, convert, it becomes X below.
Cross the bridge and you will see two more stone sculptures.
Clue number 3: The element Air. One of the words here is something you can hold. Take the last letter of the word convert it, it replaces Y below
Move on to the next stone sculpture.
Clue number 4: The element Fire: One of the words here is in Spanish. Take the first letter of that word, convert it, it replaces A below
Cross the second bridge back over the river to find the last stone sculpture.
Clue number 5: The element Earth: One of these words is “home” to all of us. Take the first letter of that word, convert it, it replaces B below.
Clue number 6: Also at the element Earth: One of these words is Greek. Take the 3rd letter, convert it, it replaces C below.
N 39.4A.B2C
W 105.0X.2YZ
These coordinates take you to the next waypoint. Count the number of rocks at this location. 292 + the number of rocks = XXX.
N 39.45.479
W 105.00.XXX
These are the coordinates to the final cache location.
On foot the trip is approximately .50 miles (one way) from the parking coordinates below to the cache.
Note: The park is full of people during the day, it’s a great place to lunch, walk, bike and just relax. When I worked downtown I used to walk here nearly every day on my lunch hour. However, after dark the park may at times house the homeless.
Parking near waypoint #1 is at N 39.45.812/W 105.00.062.
8/1/2006: This is the second regular cache that has gone missing. The cache is now a small pouch big enough for small trade items and geocoins. Bring your own pen. I've also shortened the trip by removing the final waypoint.
Remember the geocaching golden rule: TRADE UP, TRADE EVEN OR DON'T TRADE.
