The cache is located aproximately 3.5 KM from the Costanera Hiway.
Heading south from Dominical towards Palmar, turn left at Coronado,
which is just South of KM marker 182. The road follows the
beautiful Coronado River, through the small village of Tres Rios.
Normally 2 wheel drive is able to make it with no problem, you
cross one small stream.
To locate the cache, drive to the Y in the road, park there and
follow the left branch of the road about thirty yards. There is a
fence gate on the right side of the road. The owner has given
permission to go through the gate, but please close it when you
leave. This is a very beautiful area not visitied by many people,
but well worth the side trip if heading toward the Osa Peninsula.
The contents of the cache are small painted wooden birds and
butterflies made by the owner. The cache is a plastic jar with a
screw on lid, also there is a notebook and pencil. Some Tres Rios
treasures are also listed. The Lat Long are about fifteen feet from
the actual cache, better reception.
Small note on cache maintenance: The owners of
the land adjacent to this property, and other friends in the area,
are ardent daily hikers and have agreed to check on the condition
and security of the cache on a regular basis. We maintain contact
with each other on a regular email basis. We visit there on a
regular basis as well.
