This cache is a plastic container hidden in Alsos Syggrou, a small forest in Marousi.
If you have never been to Alsos Syggrou, you are in for a treat. You wouldn't imagine that such an area could exist in Athens. The forest is directly on Kifissias Avenue, with bus lines making stops right outside it, or 10 minutes on foot from the Marousi Metro station. It is a favorite spot for walking the dogs, jogging, bicycling etc. The park is open during the day, from dawn to dusk. There is some parking available on Kifissias avenue outside the park gates.
Make your best way to the cache coordinates. You will find a dirt N-S path; there is a hydrant on the west side of the path, and a tall pine tree with a green 5 painted on it on the east side of the path. To the left of the pine there is a cascade of ivy leaves. The pine and the cascade of leaves mark an opening in the bushes, where the box is located. The box contains a ziploc bag with a geocaching declaration in English and Greek, logbook and pen, and another ziploc bag for the trade items. The box dimensions are 17cm x 12 cm x 5cm, plan your items accordingly! There is a bit of walking through bushes to reach the cache, closed shoes and long pants are recommended although not necessary.
