Tufa formations on the Smoke Creek Desert. Fairly remote area. Gravel highway and dirt road gets you here.
The ancient Lahanton lakebed contains many thousands of tufa formations. Tufa is a calcium carbonate limestone wich is formed underwater. I thought fellow cachers might enjoy sitting atop one of these formations overlooking the Smoke Creek Desert. Golden eagles are often seen in this area. We placed in the cache the following items: Geo leter, camera, log book, marble, "I only sleep with the best" pin, "you make the difference" coin, dalmatian pencil, butterfly hairpin, pacifier and "Burly" Travel Bug.
