This cache has been archived.

Hemlock: It looks like the cache owner is no longer active in geocaching, since his last visit was July 19, 2007, so I'm going to archive this cache and free up the area.

When/if this cache is replaced, please email me at hemlock@geocachingadmin.com and if it is still is within the guidelines for cache placement and posting, I'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Can you find Paradise? It is possible, but you'll have to work for it.

The Orestimba wilderness is some of the least visited, and most beautiful, terrain in Henry Coe State Park. If you want solitude (except for 2 days of the year..see below), this is the place to go. It's hard to believe that standing at Paradise Lake, you are less than 30 miles from the "heart" of Silicon Valley. To say that it's pretty difficult to is a bit of an understatement. From Coe HQ to Mississippi lake is a 11(17.7) mile(km) jaunt one way with an elevation gain/loss of 2490(759)/-3040(927) ft(m), and the cache is located 6.2(10) miles(km) past there. If you start at Bell Station, you are looking at about 12 (19.3) miles(km) one way, although the terrain is quite a bit kinder.

Another way to get to this cache is to go out on one of Coe's famous backcountry weekends. This makes it far easier, as you can hike in from Orestimba corral. This is about a 6.8 (11) mile(km) hike (one way). Unfortunately it's also probably the only two days of the year that you won't have the place to yourself.

Please note that the last little bit (from Paradise Flat to the lake itself) is in the wilderness itself, and you are not allowed to bike there (the last 0.3 miles).
Please see the Coe mountain bike page for more information about biking in Coe. I think the first paragraph says it all. For 99% of the population, this will not be a one day mountain biking trip. 'Nuff said.

You are looking for a 5" by 8" Tupperware with a white lid.
