This is a part of a series of caches that you can find individually, or do them all as a short thru-hike. As of this date, BLM trail literature shows this trail open year round. This is a great early morning or evening hike when the weather warms up...Lots of fantastic scenery, wind caves and all of the unspoiled desert flora and fauna. To do a thru-hike, which is about 3 easy miles, and should only take a couple of hours, park a car at the Lake Cahuilla County Park, N 33 37.663 W 116 16.549. Or arrange to have another person with a car pick you up. (Cell phones work fine.) Then in another car, go to the trailhead parking at the top of the La Quinta Cove at N 33 38.915 W 116 18.685. Start your geo-adventure there, as the trail is primarily downhill if you go in this direction.
Cache container is a disguised tube. Contents include assorted geoswag, logbook, pencils and geoletter.
