Geocache Description:

This kid's cache is to honor some very creative students and teachers who care for and decorate a very special tree. An easy grab, almost from the car, but you've got to sign the log and climb a two step embankment to get to it. Much safer if approached from the west. Watch your coordinates and slow down as you approach... it'll sneak up on you. Make sure to pull safely off the road.

This is a unique tree, adopted and loved, we believe, by the children and teachers of nearby Spring Valley School. For 18 years, that we know of, the talented and artistic teachers and students have celebrated every holiday, every season by decorating this little tree with hand made decorations fitting to the occasion. We always look forward, as we head up Highway 70, to discover what new decorations will wave to us from this lone tree standing by the road. It may not have the visual impact of a shoe tree (See: Ehh, what's up, doc?), but it IS a very special tree.

Originally this cache contained; log sheet, first to find certificate and geocache letter. There is no room for a writing instrument so please bring your own.

This tree has become historic to us, and as such we happily add it to our historic caches of Highway 70. Who knows, perhaps the teachers and students will discover the cache and become future geocachers.
