This cache is named for GrizzFlyer" who rides his motorcycle great distances to hunt everyone's caches. Grizz has been an active cacher in NW Ohio for years and is responsible for a lot of great caches. I mean real caches, not guard rail magnets. Thank you Grizz for all you have done for NwoGeo.
I was thinking one day about how there might be people with walking or other health difficulties who miss out on geocaching. All these locations can be found by driving up to them, assuming you have normal or corrected vision. Of course this cache is open to all, and would make a great winter hunt for those cold days.
This is a 5 part virtual hunt that will take you on a nice scenic tour. Fall colors are excellent.
If you pay attention to the area cache maps you can also hunt some traditional caches along the way.
Leg 1
GoTo the posted coordinates. This is an Ohio Historical Marker. In the lower right hand corner is a number. Write down the LAST digit. Take some time to read the marker and enjoy the view. This isn't a race. Go back east, toward Maumee, a few blocks and cross the Waterville bridge to Rt.65 on the south side.
Leg 2
GoTo N 41-26.704 W 83-47.077
These coordinates take you to Otsego Park, You are looking for a sign at these coordinates that says something about canoes. Write down the NUMBER OF WORDS on this sign.
Leg 3
GoTo N 41-24.727 W 83-52.183 There is an old town hall here. Note the interesting architecture, and write down the LAST digit of the year it was built. This town would be a good place to get a cup of coffee or lunch.
Leg 4
GoTo N 41-24.915 W 83-57.766
This is just a cool barn. See picture. At these coordinates there is a sign giving the name of this place. Write down the NUMBER OF WORDS in the name. Three miles ahead is a bridge. This would be a good time to turn.
