Let's help clean up the Port Melbourne Waterways.
This event is along the shore of the Yarra River.
Please take care and ensure children are supervised at all times!
A troop from Tangaroa Blue are going to be in the area already cleaning up.
Tangaroa Blue Foundation is an Australian-wide not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the removal and prevention of marine debris.
You only need to bring sun/rain protection, a reusable water bottle and wear enclosed shoes. Gloves, first aid and bags will be provided.
To confirm numbers and assist with planning, a registration form has been created, which you will be required to complete. Follow this link to register.
After the clean-up, all the rubbish collected will be categorised and the data loaded into the Australian Marine Debris Initiative database. The Tangaroa Blue Foundation uses the data gathered to help communities create ‘source reduction plans’ to limit the amount of rubbish created in the first place.
