Our school families love to do night caches and we wanted something close that would give us between 30 and 60 minutes outside. Hopefully this will fit the bill!
Follow the reflectors until you find the container. This really is a giant Dot-to-Dot in the forest. You will be on trails for most of this night search - some hard top, some dirt, some deer. You will not need to do any bushwhacking, but mind your step for logs and the odd rock. Safety first! Don't be fooled by fire hydrants... It is amazing how well lit, they are at night!
One reflector = continue on the trail
Two reflectors = a change in direction or trail change
Three reflectors mean that you have arrived.
To find your way out, use your parking coordinates.
And finally... XYLOGENOUS means "living on or in wood". Perfect for this adventure; it starts 'on' and ends 'in.'
NOTE: A third container is now in place. (Might be some kind of a record... three containers in as many weeks...) This is winter friendly, but sadly no room for swag. BYOP! Read November 18, 2014 entry for more info.
