Join me at 11:00 am for a stroll of 500 metres along the shore of Lake Eppalock. We will find Kellam's Rock at the end of the stroll and be able to see some features of this glacial pavement that make it a special and significant geological feature of the national estate in Victoria.
I visited Kellam's Rock on 20 March 2014 to take some photographs and geological measurements for a proposed earthcache that I am putting together. With Lake Eppalock at 72% capacity, the rock is completely out of the water but also exposed is an amount of rubbish that would be nice to have collected.
Supportive and strong footware is advisable as the lake shore is rocky. Rubbish bags, gloves and bottled water will be available at GZ prior to our departure for Kellam's Rock. Each person who logs an “Attended” for a CITO event on April 26 or April 27 this year earns a 2014 CITO souvenir for their Geocaching profile.
