Who am I?
I was born in Hillingdon 3 years before WWII rationing formally ended, and was raised in a council house in Harefield.
I have three forenames, the third of which is unusual.
At about six years old I played the part of an animal in a stage performance by Harefield Amateur Dramatics Society.
I suffered badly healthwise as a child and underwent an operation at Harefield Hospital aged seven.
I was a chorister at St Mary The Virgin, Harefield under the auspices of the Revd Dennis Connor who was the long standing vicar of that parish including throughout my formative years.
I first appeared on TV in the late 1970s talking on the subject for which I am most famous, and continued offering advice throughout the 1980s, the 1990s and beyond.
I take a keen interest in football at all levels, especially in Middlesex, and helped to design the badge of the team that I support.
Since the millennium I have made occasional guest TV appearances and appeared in reality TV shows.
In 2006 I took part in Celebrity Fit Club and in 2011 entertained the public on SCD
surviving long enough to perform when the show took place at Wembley Arena.
