The Boston Hill cache was placed in March 2001, making it the 37th cache in Massachusetts. As of January 2020, it is the 21st oldest cache in the state. Originally placed by JohnM. Thanks to BearRiverCrew for offering to maintain it and keep this old cache alive.
Recommended parking: Ward Reservation parking area on Prospect Rd. in Andover. (42° 38.420 N, 71° 06.744W) It may be possible to park on Rt. 114 but if you do, you will probably be crossing private land and you will miss the superb view from Holt Hill (42° 38.451, 71° 06.384).
The terrain rating is based upon the walk from the parking (30 min+ each way). There are no really tough trails. I would recommend using a trail map. There is one available at the Trustees of Reservations web site: http://www.thetrustees.org/places-to-visit/northeast/ward-reservation.html
Do not come late in the day. The parking lot is locked at sunset and you will want at least a couple of hours.
The cache itself is an ammo can. Please be sure to put it back in the same location and hide it well.
