With the closure of Fort Ord in September 1994, this area was left abandoned. However, new construction and creative reuse of the old provide glimmers of hope and renewal.
This extensive child development center building has new Monterey County occupants. However, excited children will probably never again visit the playground with its creative onion-domed climbing structure.
Easily accessible from nearby parking, the cache is a 35mm film canister with a log. Please bring your own pen.
