Geocache Description:

This is a cache dedicated to my Pa, who suffered from the afflictions that the facility at the published address deals with. I know he would have loved this fabulous game. Walking with my Pa was always interesting. I'd hear the same stories on repeat :)
This is a story I may have heard if he were with us and playing this game today.
You will need to follow the path as described in the story and may need to hunt a bit to find this one.

EDIT: March 2020
My Father-in-law is also suffering from this terrible affliction, so I've been reflecting lately on my Pa. I've now updated the story slightly to reflect the every changing scenery of the area, with new clues to help you find it.

"Hi Son."

"I'm not your son, I'm your grandson, Cameron."

"Ah yes, of course you are.

Let me tell you, as I get older I seem to get a little confused at times. This area really reminds me a lot of where we used to go on holidays as kids, except more modern....

Not sure why or how, but I found myself here when I was trying to hide a cache. I'm not really sure where I left it though. You see, I get a little confused at times.

So I walked out the front door and turned towards the orange sign. I like oranges, especially freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning. Good for your constitution."

"Me too, Pa. Toast, butter, veg'"

"I took a walk. I've had to walk a lot since I did my back just a few years ago. But I get tired easily these days and there was a bench just a couple of hundred metres down the road. So I sat there and just watched the traffic go by for a while. "

"Maybe you hid it there, Pa."

"Hid what, Son?"

"The cache. The one you can't remember where you hid."

"Ah yes, as I get older I seem to get a little confused at times.

Anyway, I got up and walked further when it started to rain, and so I ducked under some cover. The rain does good things for garden, especially my little orange tree. I like oranges, especially.."

"So then what did you do, Pa?"

"Well, I crossed the road at the crossing right in front of me, of course! I'm not quick enough these days to go across any other way."

"Ok, so why did you cross?"

"To post my mail of course.

"So you posted the cache?"

"Of course not. I may be getting older but my mind is as sharp as a tack."

"Hmm"

"The ivy all over that brick wall near the post box is going crazy, and is really thick. And then the gardens further down caught my attention, lights and garden figures in them. The figures reminded me of my garden when I was a child. We used to go on holidays when I was a child to an area a lot like this. Can't remember where it was though."

"Nor the cache, Pa"

"No, that cache... yes. So I stopped and checked out the little garden bed on the nature strip. Strange place for that, if you ask me. Never know what someone may do to it. But the gardens around here remind me of when I was..."

a little kid on holidays?

"Yes. But I can't recall where that was...."

"So, anyway, I kept walking down past the cafe, with it's wonderful calligraphy for its name. What is the name of it anyway. Ah, never mind. I'd rather have some Chinese food, and I could smell it drifting over from across the road. But it wasn't time to eat, so I kept walking to the service station. They've got a bright shiny new sign there."

"Why did you go there?"

"To get the newspaper. Always read the paper. Keeps ones mind sharp. Look at me; sharp as a tack."

Then I headed back to the Helen's cafe to read the paper and have an orange juice. I love an orange juice in the morning; good for your constitution.

"So I've heard."

"And that's when I realised I didn't have it any more."

"Didn't have what, Pa?

The cache, Son. Pay attention...."

So... now you've walked along with the story, you will have noted some probable hides. There is only one real obvious one though. Get the rough coordinates and check below. Don't worry, you won't need to be too accurate.

Now alternatively, one of the items mentioned in the story has an eight digit asset code
If the tag is ABCD EFGH, then the cache is found around S37 49.(A)(E-D)(D) E145 2.(A-F)(G-E-D)(H)
