The Sausage tree is a native of Africa but you can find
a few in Hawaii too. Ala Moana Beach Park has several specimens.
This is an unusual tree and very valuable to the African tribes. To
the African tribes it is a medicine tree, a food tree, a beer tree,
a religious, ritual and magic tree, a shade tree, a palaver tree, a
dugout canoe tree, an animal fodder tree, an ornamental tree. Click
on the picture on this page for more info on this interesting
tree.
Once you find the Sausage tree at the coordinates you
will be very near to the cache. The fruit of the Sausage tree hangs
from a long vine. Keep this in mind as you try to find this
cache.
This is number three of four new traditional caches that
Kailua Al and ancognito have hidden around Ala Moana Beach Park to
help celebrate the Geocaching Makahiki event.
We will also have an official Cache to Eagle® Trackable
Geocoin as
an FTF prize for each of the four new caches. (Max of one per
cacher)
