Tree X-ing Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

Don't you just hate it? You're out for a nice drive when all of a sudden a giant redwood tree stumbles onto the road. Proceed around with caution as you never know when its little ones might be close behind.

You are looking for a medium sized, homemade cache that has room for a few trade items. Finding its location should be a cinch but trying to avoid being spotted by any of the 360° surrounding homes is another story. This is a "green" themed cache (interpret any way you want) in honor of this magnificent tree so try to make your trade items reflect this (First to Find will be rewarded with some Wildflower Seeds).

CAUTION: Please be gentle when replacing the cache as the cap could pop off if dropped. For obvious reasons, please also be sure to tighten cap when replacing. Thanks.

The original cache contained log sheet, pen, seeds, and a few "green" items.

UPDATE 10/5/2009: Congrats to the voucher for the FTF!
UPDATE 2/17/2010: It has been brought to my attention that the yellow ribbon that is tied around the tree was placed there in memory of a neighborhood boy who passed away. Please be respectful and do not disturb the ribbon. Thank you. UPDATE 2/28/2010: After several attempts, the original cache could not be retrieved so I've built a new one. Again, please be sure to SECURE THE CAP (twist until threads tighten) when replacing.
UPDATE 4/9/2010: Looks like an element of the cache has once again been lost. However, an unknown cacher has created a makeshift container. Whoever you are, thank you! I will try to properly replace when I can gather the necessary materials. In the meantime, enjoy the temp container.
UPDATE 6/27/2010: I finally got around to replacing my hide with the originally intended container. This one's back in all its glory (with the addition of a "warning" label, outlining proper replacement strategy). In addition, I've instituted a fail safe to hopefully prevent any more accidents.
