You will probably want a 4WD for this one. There are a lot of holes in the gravel road leading to the cache. I did make it in my Matrix but would not recommend it!
This is the first of a new Gnome series... It is extremely encouraged that field notes are taken as well as a photo of the cache and surroundings. These items will come in handy for a cache in the future!
Recommendations:
1. Hiking boots- terrain is very steep and there are lots of sharp pokeys around.
2. Long pants/ long sleeved shirt- please refer to #1. You will get dirty on this one...
3. Leave coordinates with a family member- as cache is out in the middle of nowhere, search and rescue would appreciate the assistance...
4. Flashlight- don't even bother attempting this one without at least one flashlight... It is in the dark!
5. Camera- you will kick yourself if you forget it... This is definately photo worthy...
6. Teams of two or more- being out in the middle of nowhere and in case someone gets stuck a buddy is highly recommended!
There are many little holes in the rocks in the area. Some are deeper than others and some blend in with their surroundings better than others.
The cache contains a brand new TB (The Centurion) that I picked up in Israel back in '97. The cache has a bunch of cool swag including a flashlight and some jewelry! A treasure chest with goodies inside! Yay!
Please feel free to contact me for assistance on this one. I would prefer to wait until after FTF but due to the distance and difficulty on this cache I will help if I can.
