Geocache Description:

One of two caches set within Gailes Marsh, a wildlife reserve at the south end of Irvine, towards Troon. This reserve is owned and managed The Scottish Wildlife Trust.

Easy parking near the old abandoned farmhouse on Marine Road near the Gailes Hotel. See the Related Webpage for driving directions etc.

Once on the reserve keep to the outer perimeter on the rough worn paths, this way your GPS device won’t direct you through the boggy area’s ( it’s not called a marsh for nothing lol ). Whole circular route should take no more than an hour.

This area is your best chance to see roe deer, look out for the flattened grasses where they have been sleeping.

Update....May 2010, the sand martins have started using the new structure. Please don't go too close, probably best to keep about 20metres away. Thanks.
