Justbob and I were geocaching in La Honda Creek OSP today and noticed that there were some trails without any geocaches. We decided to explore them, and the "Big Tree" listed on the park map particularly intrigued me. It didn't disappoint - it lives up to its name!
I decided to put a cache here to bring other people to the big tree. I only had a micro with me though, and since I think it's not very nice to hide a micro in the woods where the satellite signal is troublesome, I will provide a good description. The cache is similar in shape and size to a bison tube, and it is past the big tree on the back side of a medium-sized tree shaped like a V, hanging about 4 feet off the ground. I got the original container in the welcome bag at GeoWoodstock VI, but it appears to not be water-resistant. Thanks to SmilingFrog for replacing the container with a better one!
