Geocache Description:

The Cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. Solve the puzzle to find a waypoint which will direct you to the final.

My wife and son enjoy shopping in Newburyport during the nice weather and we usually take a yearly trip exploring downtown Newburyport. While they are visiting all of the shops in the downtown area I like to sit at Market Square, eat ice cream and enjoy the sites. Last summer I sat on my favorite bench in the shade, eating a pistachio walnut ice cream cone and contemplating life when I began thinking how Newburyport has changed in the 48 years since 1961. Back then the downtown area was past its prime and many buildings needed extensive upgrades. The city was about to bulldoze 70 or more buildings when a group of citizens decided to preserve the city’s heritage. It is amazing that they had the foresight to project into the future to envision what we see today. Now, there has to be at least 42 bustling shops in the immediate downtown area. Granted there are some problems. Parking is always an issue especially in the summer months, and Newburyport has recently instituted a new kiosk parking system, but usually there are parking spaces 52 weeks a year unlike some cities. I read in the news that Cambridge with its total of 1048 meters had to prohibit street parking once because of a meter maid strike! It’s too bad other cities, such as Haverhill, didn’t have the vision to project into the future because once a deed is done, it is impossible to convert back to an earlier time. geocalc high accuracy

I had finished my ice cream cone and was staring towards Water Street thinking about the history when suddenly I was startled from behind. I quickly spun around 313 degrees to see my son with that “Dad, I need something” look. He was a wise guy and tapped me on the opposite shoulder. After listening for ten minutes to his plea for more money, my wife caught up to us with 3 shopping bags. Upon seeing her new purchases I turned to him and said, “I’m out of cash, man!”

Plenty of parking for wp1 - magnetic in high muggle area. You do not have to climb or disturb anything - it is NOT where you think it would be! You then must convert.
There is a trail to the final - park on a side street and walk to the trailhead.

Congratulations to RJB43NH for FTF!

Geochecker is for wp1.

You can validate your FINAL puzzle solution with certitude.
