Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates!

The listed coordinates are for convenient parking.

A disparate group of Brits, while traveling through Europe, were brought together by chance. There was the Earl of Snowden, a friend of The Royal Family well known for his scandalous behavior. Winnie Winslow, a retired schoolteacher from the Cotswold’s, whose son is a member of the infamous rock band, “Rancid”. Sinclair Seeall, an inspector from Scotland Yard, who is renowned for his encyclopedic knowledge of thatching techniques. Virginia Lister, a recent divorcee, who has recently returned from California where she spent two months sequestered in her hotel room recuperating from plastic surgery and Arthur Stilton, an overly talkative salesman returning from the Orient, who always appeared "wasted". It was unclear how he found the time to drink since he was always talking about his travels, adventures and plans to become “disgustingly rich”. On the evening of the second day of the journey, Snowden was heard yelling for help. Inspector Seeall rushed to the Earl’s private compartment. Snowden explained that he went for a stroll and on returning, discovered the carpet to be bloodstained! There was no body or any other explanation for the blood! Seeall found himself staring at the wall, feeling impotent, wondering how he would ever solve this case, when he realized the solution was right in front of him.

  • A. Who was the Victim?
  • B. What was the weapon?
  • C. What was the motive?
  • D. What was the group’s method of transportation?
  • E. How was the body disposed of?
  • F. Who was the Murderer?

To answer the questions, look at the photo of the same Wall and shelf that Inspector Seeall stared at in Snowden’s compartment. Record the number associated with the item that answers the question and insert it into the formula below. THESE ARE NOT THE COORDINATES FOR THE CACHE!  Enter the results into GeoCheck to find the TRUE coordinates for Stage 1. Stage 1 contains the coordinates for Stage 2 (The Final), which is nearby.

N 40° 46. A B C

W 074° 17. D E F

Puzzle: If you're not a puzzle expert and even if you are, use of the HINTS is highly recommended and probably necessary!

Stage 1 is attached to an important "Piece of Evidence". It is quite large, in plain view, but may be difficult to spot. The nearby easily found Final reveals what ultimately happened to the "Victim's Body". It is the CRUCIAL Evidence necessary for the prosecution of this particularly heinous crime. Please Do Not Include Photos Of The "Evidence" in your logs.
