Over the last six years GeoWoodstock has grown from a small event
at a local park to an event that has filled a state park, a
fairground and a huge farm. Well for the seventh annual event, we
are taking over an entire town. Let me be this first to invite you
all to join us as we take over the town of Bell Buckle, Tennessee
for a geocaching mega event like no other. Of course, we will work
hard to make sure that GeoWoodstock VII lives up to the high
standards set by our previous hosts, with all of the events you
have come to expect and even a few special additions of our own. We
don't want to let all of the cats out of the bag just yet, but
watch this page for updates over the coming months.
Bell Buckle, a railroad village of preserved and restored
Victorian homes and churches is nestled among the hills, farmland
and Walking Horse country of Bedford County, Tennessee. The Webb
School, within walking distance of the historic downtown area, is a
world-renowned college preparatory boarding and day school and is
an integral part of this unique town.
Established in 1852, the little town of Bell Buckle has become
known far and wide for antiques, quilts, handmade crafts, country
music, home-cooking and Southern hospitality. Hundreds of thousands
of visitors are drawn each year to visit the charming downtown with
its shops and eateries and to participate in the annual fine arts,
crafts and cultural festivals.
Conveniently located between Interstates 24 and 65 in Middle
Tennessee, Bell Buckle is a Governor's Three Star Community, a
proud member of Tennessee Backroads and has the distinction of
being the smallest town in Tennessee to be a Tree City, USA. On top
of that the Bell Buckle Parks Board and the town government are
strong supporters of Geocaching and are currently working with
local groups to establish Geocaching friendly policies for the town
and surrounding area.
