Besides biking, the trail is great for walking, jogging and cross country skiing. When I started geocaching, it was the Geo-Golf series along this trail and creek that got me hooked. (That series was archived this summer) but there are still plenty of caches you can find while biking your way west, and here's one for the road...(I mean trail), to get you started.
The listed coordinates will take you to the trailhead
To find the cache: (a calculator will make things a whole lot easier)
The total mileage
of all the trails = T
T minus the total number of trails = X
The length of the orange trail squared,
plus the length of the red trail squared,
plus the length of the orange trail = Y
Y minus T minus X = Z
Z minus 10 = N
Y times 2 = A
A plus 2 = W
To locate the cache,(you may now ignore decimals)
add N to the North coordinate and subtract W from the West coordinate.
Note: May 12, 2008 - This cache was muggled in it's first month of existence. It is in a new spot, and the above calculations have been adjusted for the new coordinates. The cache is in a smaller coffee container now, but will still accomodate several small items. Initial contents include a trackable digitalfish (www.geofish.net) from California, and another sample of Mt St Helens ash from Washington.
Note: Mar 20, 2015 (the vernal equinox)- new cache container in a new spot.
Needless to say, a lot of people are always coming and going through here, especially when the weather is nice, so be very discreet while searching, finding, logging, and replacing the cache.
