Geocache Description:


It is a good mountain of the views now
There was Tama country club Hirayama course here in 1925
The full-scale mountains course of 12 halls opened in the west of the SOUINJItemple
However, it fought in 1938, and it was closed down.

There is not the parking near
Nearest station is Keio Line Hirayamajoshikoen Station
It is 15 minutes on foot

今は住宅街の小高い丘であるが
1925年 大正14年に多摩カンツリー倶楽部平山コースはここにオープンした。
平山宗印寺の西側に12ホールの本格的山岳コースがあったが
昭和13年1月6日に戦争の激化により閉鎖された。
ゴルフ場の芝生は剥されて立川飛行場に植えられそうで
もしかしたら現在の自衛隊立川基地の芝生はもともとここのものだったかもしれません。

閉鎖された後は都内よりスキーをしに来た人々もいたそうである。

キャッシュより１００ｍほど下にはゴルフ場開設にあたり功績のあった杉山又吉氏の石碑があります。
近くには車の止める場所はほとんどありません
最寄駅は京王線　平山城址公園です　駅より徒歩15分程度です。
