Carmel-by-the-Sea: Surf and Stealth Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Krypton: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Surf and Stealth

A Geocaching Tour of Carmel-by-the-Sea

This series is designed to offer a variety of geocaching challenges ranging from level one to level three. Some of the caches will be a quick and easy grab. The rest are located in a busy urban area and may require stealth techniques, a high level of patience, advance planning, or return visits.

Welcome to Carmel Beach. One of the most beautiful white sand beaches you will find along the West Coast. It is also an unusual beach these days for the following reasons:

1. Dogs are still allowed to stretch their happy legs and roam free off leash. 2. Outdoor fires are still allowed on the south end of the beach. 3. Actual glassware (not plastic) is also still allowed on this beach.

Get the picture? Make this an evening cache and then dine fireside on the sand while enjoying a gourmet dinner, crystal glasses, and a view of Rover chasing a tennis ball up and down the beach.

This is a small cache hidden in a cache container that you will find familiar, and may (or may not) have seen as a geocache container. Please trade small objects of equal value. There is a little something (it's a little cache) for the FTF.

As always in Carmel-by-the-Sea, you'll need your best stealth techniques. This beach is heavily used by locals and tourists from dawn to about 10:00pm (fires go out at 10:00). It was fun trying to plant this cache on an overcast Monday afternoon with muggles left, right, up and down. (Doesn't anybody work in this town?) You'll need a plan to be natural looking and unobtrusive, and then you can make the grab. Or, try this cache by the light of a full moon......

Please recamo so this cache is well hidden. Enjoy this spectacular beach! Congrats to Hidey Hunter for the FTF!
