This cache is placed in recognition of the Scoobert’s Challenge
effort and celebration: the creative beginnings, awesome hides, and
noteworthy finds. The original name for this cache was going to be
“9,650” which was the cumulative total of caches found at that
moment by Scoobert, size14shoe and the contingent comprising “Team
Scoobert.” As the celebration continued, other potential names
included “Alcohol and Altitude,” “Cupcake Cache Celebration,” “What
Happens in the Van Stays in the Van” (a Scooby Doo T-shirt prize),
and "What Happens at Loon Lake stays at Loon Lake" (first annual
"Team Scoobert" event?) ... well, it was quite a fun time.

Eventually, Scoobert was dared to try on B.O.S.N.’s pink boots,
and since vanilla vodka was being enjoyed by some members of Team
Scoobert, the cache name “Vanilla Vodka and Pink Boots” emerged as
the clear winner.
After all, this was a caching party
to celebrate a significant Sierra Nevada milestone (the
geographical kind, that is).
No Vanilla Vodka was consumed in the wearing
of these pink boots!
So, if you want to drive all over El Dorado County for five
caches, hiking 15.8 miles in the process, and in less than 12 hours
from start to finish, you’re welcome to wear those pink boots and
call this cache anything you want!
Until then, feel free to join in
the celebration when you next visit Loon Lake.
