Whether you own a 4wd or a 2wd it is time to dust the winter
cobwebs off the camping gear and head on down to Noojee for a
weekend of catching up with fellow geocachers.
According to Tom Tom (GPS navigator that is never wrong, but
doesn’t love you like your wife) Noojee is 86.5km from the South
East suburb of Berwick and should take about 1.05 hours to get
there.
NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE:…….The campsite is on the Loch Valley Road in
the Poplars Reserve on the Loch river which provides clean drinking
water, there is also a drop toilet (2) very close to the suggested
campsite for those who require a few mod cons.
Bring the GPS, bring the Cache Swaps, Bring the fishing rod,
Bring you Hot Buttered Rum, bring you Mulled Wine, demonstrate you
culinary skills of gourmet campfire cooking, and come along for a
fun filled weekend of camping, caching and campfire stories.
There will be new caches online in time for the event, and we
are scouting around to find any interesting 4wd tracks in the area
for those interested in a drive.
The Coffee Bean Campers will be setting up camp on Friday the
23rd the secure the best spot. Whether it be a weekend or day trip
we hope to see everyone at some stage.
Regards Mr.Coffee and the “I don’t Snore” Clan.

Event Update 9/10/07:
After speaking to Marie at the local Noojee store, by the time the
event comes around there will be Unleaded and Diesel petrol
available (not sure on price) and the shop has a nice cappuccino
machine that is switched on from 7am each day, there is also the
Pub nearby for those who might want a meal.
Confirmed the camp area is Geo Dog friendly.
We will also be on UHF channel 15 from early Friday the 23rd.
Cache update 27th October 2007.
Today we zipped up to the Poplars Reserve on the Loch Valley Road
to see what the campsite could offer. The road is sealed all the
way and it will be easy for 2wd and caravans. The campsite offers
toilets, water and a large flat area which would be a better
camping spot than the Toorongo river site. I have taken a few
photos for everyone to see what the camp site offers.
The DSE has scheduled this reserve to be reopened on the Melbourne
cup weekend and has offered a permit to us for the event weekend. I
believe the permit is to help us obtain part of the campground but
I need to confirm more details next week. Apart from the permit
idea the campground is a better choice and should prove to be a top
spot.
