Geocache Description:

Location: Langstrup Mose, Denmark

This geocache is chronologically Denmark's second stash. It is an easy 2, although it is advisable to wear rubber boots for the last bit. The location is best approached from the north and the village of Langstrup. Following the gravel road from there to the bottom of the bog makes for a pleasant (~3 km round trip) stroll. Do not be too intimidated by the dire-looking access signs. As long as you are on foot or bicycle and stick to the roads, you hereby have a lot owner's permission to enter the bog.

The pristine contents of the stash were:

1 Lego Technic (appropriately named) Swamp Robot Kit
1 Dracco Foot Bag
1 Plastic Cobra Snake
1 European Space Agency Key Ring

and last but not least:

1 Tin of Kippers (best before Dec 31, 2003)

The latter item was included in deference to Denmark's first geocache, "Kippers in the Jungle" which was placed on September 30, 2000. It somehow seemed oddly befitting to us that all Danish caches should contain kippers (at least initially) and we therefore hope to have provided an example for others to follow.

Note added 16 August 2009:
As noted by several visitors, the cache location can nowadays be approached via the publicly accessible Langstrupstien from both the north and south. The cache, however, is located on private property with the owner's permission. Visitors need not fear the nearby hunting club - the shooting range points well away from both the public path and the cache location.

Note added 20 September 2018:
The increased traffic to the site (nearly all of it motorized, sadly), has necessitated moving the cache to a new location on the cache-owner's property some 1400 meters north of the previous location. Hopefully this will lead to less friction with the neighboring plot owners and the increasingly active shooting range. This new location is significantly closer to the village of Langstrup. Visitors are therefore strongly encouraged to park their cars there and walk down to the cache location. The walk won't kill you, we guarantee.

Please only approach the cache from the gravel road in a perpendicular direction, and refrain from crossing fences and entering onto neighboring lots. The rubber boot advisory still holds for the last bit.

Note: The new cache coordinates are: N 55 56.924, E 012 28.156 . The geocaching website only allows one to move a cache some 160 m. Hence this kludge. If an exception to this rule is not made, the cache will be closed down and archived for good.

Note added 17 October 2018:
The reviewers have granted a respite to the forced archiving of this cache to allow a possible solution to be pursued.
