Tämä kätkö on ensimmäinen Tornien-taisto sarjaani. Näiden kätköjen
sarja esittelee osan Porilaisista lintutorneista sekä niiden
ympäristöstä.
Tornien taisto on BirdLife Suomen järjestämä leikkimielinen
kilpailu, jossa pyritään havaitsemaan lintutornista mahdollisimman
monta lajia kahdeksassa tunnissa. Samalla tehdään lintuharrastusta
tunnetuksi ja kerätään varoja linnustonsuojeluun. Tornien taisto
järjestetään vuosittain toukokuussa.
This is the first cache of my "The Battle of Towers" cache series.
These caches present some of birdwatching towers in Pori and their
surroundings. "The Battle of Towers" is a birdwatching event
organised annually by BirdLife Finland in May.
Kokemäenjoen suiston etelärannalta Teemuluodosta avautuu näkymä
Pohjoismaiden suurimpaan jokisuistoon. Lintutornista
voimuuttoaikaan nähdä kaikki Suomessa pesivät lintulajit. Torni
sopii myös petolintujen muuton seurantaan. Ruskosuohaukat pesivät
ja saalistavat tornin edustan ruovikossa. Teemuluodon tornille
johtavalta polulta voi poiketa Halssiin johtavalle
luontopolulle.
Kätkö on 0,9 litran kokoinen rasia, joten siihen mahtuu vaihto- ym.
tavaraa.

Teemuluoto, at the southern bank of Kokemäenjoki River Delta, has a
view to the largest river delta in the Scandinavia. From this
tower, during the migration, you can see all the bird species,
which are nesting in Finland. Tower is suitable for watching of
birds of prey. Western Marsh-harriers (Circus aeruginosus) are
nesting and hunting in the grass near the tower. From the tower
starts a nature path to Halssi. Cache is a 0,9 litre canister, so
exchange items and travel bugs fit in this cache.
