The Lost & Found Celebration on July 4, 2010 was so much fun that we've decided to hold a sequel—the Geocaching Block Party.
The 2011 Block Party will be on August 20th from 11 am to 3 pm. This is the third Saturday of August, which will be the first International Geocaching Day!
Block Party attendees will earn a special icon and enjoy activities including:
- Beginner, intermediate and advanced geocaching courses
- Pin the Antenna on Signal
- Geocacher Bingo
- Dunk the Frog (send Groundspeak Lackeys and reviewers plunging into a dunk tank
- Explore the neighborhood around Groundspeak Headquarters with “Fremont Challenges”
Check the meet-up lounge schedule to see when to come by to show off your Trackables collection or your most creative cache containers!
Here is a map of the party with a schedule of the day’s events:
We hope to see you at Groundspeak HQ! If you were at last year’s party, please note the new coordinates. We are moving to a new office a few blocks away and taking the party with us.
Handicap parking is available at N 47° 38.930 W 122° 20.855 You will need to take the elevator from the handicap parking to the event. There will be signs noting the way. Please note that the parking lot is not on Aurora Ave (WA-99), but off of the road just beneath it, which is called Troll Ave.
There should be a fair amount of street parking nearby. We suggest trying across Fremont Ave. to the west and walking along the Burke-Gilman Trail to the event.
Please post any questions to this forum. (This forum is now read-only.)
