Kätköpaikan läheltä pitäisi löytyä ~5000-3000 eKr päivätty
kalliomaalaus koordinaattien N 61° 01.241 E 027° 53.809 tuntumasta.
Maalauksen löytäminen ja hahmottaminen saattaa kyllä kysyä hieman
arkeologista kokemusta. Mikäli löydät maalauksen tai tunnet sen
tarkan paikan olisi mukavaa jos ilmottaisit tarkat koordinaatit ja
tuntomerkit loggauksessasi.
Kätkön vaikeustasoa nostaa normaalia heikompi GPS-signaalin
kuuluvuus. Kätkörasia on vajaan puolen litran pakasterasia, johon
geokolikot ja pienet tb:t mahtuvat hyvin.
Kätkö on periaatteessa mahdollista löytää talvellakin, mutta
silloin alueen lähestyminen on huomattavasti hankalampaa. Talvisin
kallioilla liikkuessa on luonnollisesti myös syytä olla erityisen
varovainen.
The cache is located on the western outskirts of Lappeenranta in
Varis-Lavola on the shore of lake Vetjanjärvi. You can leave your
car to coordinates N 61° 01.193 E 027° 53.038.
Near the cache there should be a prehistoric (dated 5000-3000
BC) rock painting somewhere near N 61° 01.241 E 027° 53.809. The
painting is very likely to be really faint so you'll probably need
some archaeological expertise to locate and recognize it.
The difficulty rating is due to poor GPS-signal reception in the
area. The cache itself is hidden in the usual way. The cache is a
450ml plastic container with enough room for geocoins and small
travel bugs.
It's possible to find the cache also during winter, but
approaching the cache site will be a lot more difficult and
increases the terrain rating. Naturally you should be extra careful
on the icy cliffs.
