This simple multi cache takes you along a ridge beside Basset Down Wood, then into Quidhampton Wood.
This ridge is said to have inspired the popular saying ‘as different as chalk from cheese’, the ‘chalk’ being the chalk uplands of the Marlborough Downs to the south, and the ‘cheese’ the dairy lands of the Malmesbury Plain to the north.
There is limited road side parking at the above co-ordinates. You can take a circular walk which is just over one mile.
Head towards ‘George’ at N51° 31.012 W001° 50.342 and substitute the two years for him as ABCD – EFGH.
The cache is at the following location:
N51° 30.(C+G)(C+D)H W001° 50.(A+H)(G-E)(B-H-D)
The difficulty has been set appropriately as there is a lot of tree cover. Walking boots are recommended.
Once you've found this cache, why not walk on to Bincknoll Castle (GC15WF4)!
