Barnwood Park
This is third of a series of four caches based on Ermin Street, the Roman Road that runs from Gloucester (Glevum) to Cirencester (Corinium) then on to Silchester. The section near Gloucester is also on the No. 10 bus route which runs from Tuffley via the City Centre to Brockworth then on to Cheltenham via Shurdington so the entire series can be visited by using the bus. The four caches contain additional numbers which will enable the completion of a Sudoku grid which will provide the coordinates for the fifth and final cache.
Barnwood Park contains an award winning arboretum (www.glos-city.gov.uk/barnwoodarboretum ) in the grounds of what used to be a private mental hospital. The chapel in the park is now a gymnasium.
The cache is a 35 mm film container. In view of the number of times it has been muggled, I do not recommend that you leave travel bugs. There is no pen in the cache. I have had to replace and move this cache several times so please be discrete and re-hide carefully as children play around here.
The nearest No. 10 bus stop is to be found in Barnwood Road between Church Road and Insley Gardens. Access to the park is via either Church Lane or Cherston Court
