Waters On High 3
The above co-ordinates are not the cache site co-ordinates.
Old wily Walter Waters had some treasure that he
wished to share with fellow geocachers. He knew just where to hide
it – a very nice spot for those with dogs, mini cachers, bird
lovers or who liked a walk. Wily Walter didn’t want to make it too
easy to find though. He split the co-ordinates for the final
treasure into three parts.
The third part of the final treasure
co-ordinates he placed inside the lid of this small cache,
Waters On High 3, and included a little bit of a
cryptic clue for the final treasure too!
Being wily Walter though, he disguised the location of this
small cache Waters On High 3 in a puzzle to make
sure nobody would just guess.
The puzzle can be solved with the aid of the following
paragraph, and this must be solved to obtain the correct
co-ordinates for this cache.
"At one time deep wells were a common source of supply for
towns. Borings made into the chalk and New Red Sandstone yielded an
excellent water, which was pumped up into large tanks placed at the
top of a water-tower, so as to obtain the necessary head. In some
cases, however, it was found extremely difficult to meet the
requirements of steadily growing towns; borings could not be
increased indefinitely as each one drained a considerable area, and
wells sunk in gravel-beds are now being given up for the supply of
large towns, but are still retained for small communities, such as
prisons, asylums, etc."

This cache must be
visited along with the other two connected caches, Waters
On High 1 and Waters On High 2 to
establish the final co-ordinates for the fourth and final cache
site Waters Where Are You?
Many thanks to Hi-5ers for spotting
the error in the clue.
Following
the placement of this cache during the winter months, I have
now found the entire area covered in 6 foot high nettles and
you will be unable to reach this cache until the nettles have
gone. The
cache will be retrieved as soon as possible and relocated
nearby to prevent this from happening
again.
If you think you have cracked the
third code to obtain the co-ordinates for "Waters on High 3",
please e-mail me and providing you
have it correct, I will provide you with the final
clue from this cache.
