Another cache in my favorite park, Quicksilver Park.
The cache is hidden along the Guadalupe trail. The hike in from the McAbee Rd. entrance in about 2.4 miles and beautiful this time of year (winter) the hills are green. The view from here is also great of the reservoir.
This spot was picked because it's above the San Antonio Mine, which was below the dirt road below the cache site. When I use to hike these hills 35 years ago all the mineshafts were still open. We were smart enough to know not to go in them.
The cache is about 400' off the trail in a clear area so poison oak is a real problem. There is some PO in the area of the cache, but it is easily avoided.
