brokev7: This cache hasn't live up to my expectations (it only had 3 visits), so I prefer to archive it. It's not worth to replace it.

La Cruz de Alajuelita is a metal cross on top of Cerro San Miguel (2036 mts. above sea level), one of the hills sorrounding the Central Valley on the South side.
It's recommended that you take this trip in the dry season, otherwise you will witness the path leading up becoming a stream. You have been warned.
I would suggest that you park your car at the waypoint given: Valle Azul Mirador and you take the dirt road that leads from there. Take a right at the small stream which is normally dry during the dry season so just take the first right that you can once you're at the dirt path. You will see that the path is slightly up hill. At the next crossroad take a left. You will be on your way to the first cross.
The coordinates will take you passed through the first cross, couple hundred meters before arriving to the second one. It's a fairly difficult climb (1880 meters above see level), but you can get there in less than 2 hrs. We would like to encourage more people to climb all the way to the top.
Take plenty of water with you. If you continue to the third cross, half way there is a house where a friendly guy lives. He provides free water to the hikers by the fence if needed.
From this location you have a beautiful view to the city. If you sit and rest there for a while you will have the "world is mine" feeling sneaking up on you.
The cache is placed in a hole at the base of the tree.
Have a good hike, happy geocaching!
