Geocache Description:

It would have been a lot easier to find years ago.

This park in the 1890s was called the Athletic Park and was used as a football playing field. By 1906 funds had been solicited and a grandstand built. It was destroyed in 1919 by kids smoking under the wooden seats.
From 1911 until the 1960s it was known as Eckstorm Park. I believe he ran the Dallas Hotel (later Coalbanks Inn). By 1956 the park had shrunk and after being revitalized by the Kiwanis Club they changed the name to honour themselves.

The Cache used to be found at the foot of this tree. But it was stolen by the nearby garbage gobbler who has it underfoot so the kids nearby won’t see it.
