Dual Roads is a unique area of Charlotte County. The two roads, seperated by a broad grassy media, intersect Atwater Boulevard. The name refers to the fact the roads are parallel to each other for about 3/4 mile. Another spelling, Duel Roads, refers to the fact young people used to drag race down these two roads back in the 1970s and 1980s when there was no development in the area.
