Geocache Description:

IMPORTANT EVENT UPDATES!!!

The Geobells have so many friends, Westside Pizza can't hold us all!! The event location has been moved to the picnic shelter at nearby Berthusen Park in Lynden.

  • NEW LOCATION, SAME TIME: Berthusen Park picnic shelter, just past the playground area near the posted coordinates. The entrance to the park is located at 8837 Berthusen Road, Lynden. After entering the park, drive west through the park until you see our big group! The date is Saturday, September 11 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
  • NEW MEAL INFORMATION: Westside Pizza (8195 Guide Meridian, in the same building as the Chevron station) is ready and able to feed us all, they just didn't have enough seats for our big group! If you're in the mood for great pizza, give them a call with your order a day or even a few hours before the event, and pick it up on your way to the park. Mention the "Geocaching Group: for a discount on your order. You can check out their menu and phone number here: West Side Pizza There are also several nearby take-out options in the area, a couple of grocery stores with delis, or you can brown-bag it from home.
  • ADDED BONUS: Half-Canadian's shiny new commercial snow cone machine will be making its Geo-Debut at the event -- you'll be able to enjoy all-you-can-eat gourmet snow cones with a variety of Torani syrups after dinner -- FREE!
  • OTHER DETAILS: I'll have the usual disposable plates, napkins, and cutlery on hand for everybody, along with bottled water. There's a playground near the picnic shelter for the kids and restrooms nearby as well. The shelter has running water and electrical outlets available.

Now, back to the original event information
One of Whatcom County's best loved caching families have made the big move from Bellingham to Lynden, so it's time to give them a warm welcome to their new home in the north county! The Geobells have contributed so much to geocaching in our area -- you've probably tried to solve one of their tricky puzzle caches and there's a good chance that you own a t-shirt that Mr. Bells has printed for a geocaching event that you've attended. Mark your calendars now to come out and meet the Geobells, have some pizza, and have a great time. If you are lucky, you may even get to learn the secret "Lynden Handshake"!

New geocachers are especially welcome to attend! You'll get to meet some of the other local geocaching folks, get a hint on one of those caches you can't seem to find, or maybe find a geocaching buddy to go out caching with! This is a family-friendly event, there's no charge to attend, and all are welcome.

The weather looks clear for Saturday, so be sure to come on out and "Ring the Bells"!!

Let's see how many bells we can bring to the event -- the easiest one will be most everyone's cell phone! My iPhone has sound effects of church bells, a doorbell, and an old fashioned phone bell. No cell phone?? How about a jingle bell, cowbell, or handbell? As a toast to the Geobells, we can see how much noise we can make with our collective bells ringing!
