Gerry's Low Tide is our first cache. It's located in Marblehead,MA. about 17 miles northeast of Boston. One of the nice features of this stash are the ocean views and the Marlinspike Seamanship treasures contained within the clear plastic container. In order to see the views of the ocean, as well as get your bearings, go to Fort Sewall first. Fort Sewall is at the end of Front St., which runs parallel to Marblehead Harbor. The Fort is at the end of Front St. and parking is available just before you come to the Fort. Wallk out to the end of the Fort. That is at the mouth of the Harbor. When you look out at the ocean, Marblehead Light is on your right, straight ahead is Baker's Island with it's own Lighthouse, and to your left is Little Harbor. From this point you will be able to develop a strategy to find the cache.
Two historial facts that might enhance your trex to Marblehead. First, it was from Fort Sewall that the U.S.S. Constitution received protective cannon fire during the War of 1812,causing a British Man-of-War to take flight rather than fight. Second, as you look at Little Harbor, the island closest to Fort Sewall was named after Eldridge Gerry, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. GOOD HUNTING!
