10/25/07: After years
of dealing with low quality cachers stealing, breaking,
plundering, taking the good treasure, leaving geo-crap, and
misplacing my caches, I'm exhausted. I have tried to provide
quality, creative, and original caches for over six years,
costing me a good amount of time and money. Sometimes the
only reward is yet another cut n' paste log from a
numbers-obsessed cacher. Coupled with the ongoing damage at
my caches, it just ain't worth it and it's not fun. I will
continue my normal maintenance visits but I am now archiving
all my caches if they are again ruined by LQCs (or if the
cache is controversial in any way). This process may be quick
or long depending on the cachers that come here. For the
enjoyment of future cachers, please take care of this cache
just as indicated below to help preserve this hide. I do send
a BIG thanks to all the high quality cachers who have helped
support me and my caches through the years. Much appreciated!

Welcome to "True Grit." The cache resides securely in a trail
junction where neighborhoods will soon be springing up near the
trail. I tried to take this into consideration with the placement
to avoid future heavy traffic patterns and "peering houses" (which
will overlook the trail from Loomis development across the
way). And it's convenient; container is mere feet off the trail
using an established little trail and yet the location should
provide adequate trading shelter if you're careful.
And like you probably just read at my No Stock Micro!, CoolCache says that
sometimes a quality cacher just needs a full size cache to get
the job done. A good micro is great but sometimes you need the
room and trading ability of a regular cache. But they definitely
can be higher maintenance and even infuriating for the owner as
he watches geo-garbage replace the high quality schwag it
usually started off with. Many full size placers over the years
flat out give up and just go micro... even in areas that can
easily support a full sized cache. But ever hopeful and despite
getting thrown a few times, CoolCache climbs back into the
saddle one more time to give this area of the trail a fun and
secure trading location. At the heart of geocaching is trading.
Help me out with this one and prove my faith in the overall
goodness of geocachers.
Obviously all high quality trades, all travel bugs, and cool
signature items are welcome "True Grit." But please, please save
the Happy Meal trash, promotional merchandise, dollar store items,
etc. for the many other caches where they are better suited for...
there are thousands out there. Also please mark your trade items
with your name. Most good cachers carry a good item or two for
those rare caches where they're appropriate. This one be a good
place for them. Thanks!
Welcome to paved trail caching!
CoolCache says there are few caching experiences as fun as a paved
river trail: scenic views, good privacy for searching, great
productivity, and they allow for some fun biking or xootering while
bringing your "dog friend" along (my dog friend). Great exercise for her, great
caching for you! While on the trail and in addition to several
others, check out all the CoolCache hides, listed below north to
south. Launch points can either be 126th South or 146th South at
the "Spring View Farms" trail head with good parking available at
both locations. Cache on!
>>>> 8/26/06: This cache is maintaining a good trade
reputation. Don't be the one that ruins that. Also cover with some
dry grass when done.
