Geocache Description:

The above coordinates are for stage one. This is a three-part cache that takes you to one of the many waterfalls located in Oil Creek State Park. The cache is located in Plum Dungeon Hollow. How Plum Dungeon might have received its name: Stories taken in 2001.
An 84 year old woman, whose Grandparents lived at Miller Farm for 78 years told her that it was called Plum Dungeon because there was a grove of plum trees growing there so dense and thick and gnarly that they made the valley very dark. Since it was so dark it reminded people of a dungeon.
A second story is from an 84 year old man, who back in the day, used to drive his supped up Thunderbird car around with his buddies out to Plum Dungeon. He was under the impression it was called such from a carpentry term, PLUMB, with a "B" which means a perfect vertical condition. They use this term when putting up a wall, meaning they were straight up and down. He also speculated it was called Plum Dungeon because it was "just plum steep and dark down there!"
The final cache is a large ammo can hidden just off of the Gerard Hiking Trail. This area is open to hunting, so be sure to wear fluorescent orange in hunting seasons. Also the Park closes at sunset, so plan accordingly. It's a just under a mile walk on the trail. The trail is easily followed, and is marked by yellow blazes on the trees. The walk to the first stage is mostly uphill and a little muddy in spots. From there it’s fairly level to part two and the final.
You will have to cross a couple of small streams. Also near part two you can see a smaller waterfall off to your right. After you have found the final have a seat on the bench and look at the falls.
Note: For the best viewing try to visit after a rain.
