Geocache Description:

All Travel Bugs have a wish, weather it be to circle the globe, visit the 50 states, make it to the top of Mount Everest, or simply just travel from cache to cache, they need our help. This is my home cache, and I really want to make this something special. I love helping travel bugs stay in good shape, and have the best possible chance of realizing their dreams.

Congratulations to Camper John & Lucky4leafshamrock on the FTF!

This cache is large enough to fit almost any travel bug you may have, as the inside of the well is a 53-gallon barrel. (For the rare case you have a travel bug that does not fit, I refer you to "World Largest Travel Bug Hotel" - GC1R6A7, which is 17.6 miles away, but if we're home, make sure you show us first!).

To help keep the travel bugs safe, (and to keep Timmy from falling down the well again, Lassie is tired of rushing to go get help) the wishing well has a lid with a 4 character combination lock on it. In an additional effort to be sure that travel bugs are treated correctly, here is a 4-question multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank quiz about travel bugs. Each answer will give you a digit of the combination. If you have ever logged a travel bug before, this should be easy, if you have not, please read and learn!

Answers to all of these questions can be found on the "How to use a Travel Bug" page at:

**************** QUIZ *******************
How to use a Travel Bug

A Travel Bug is usually a dog tag that is attached to a "hitchhiker," or an item that travels from place to place. If you found a Travel Bug the first thing you need to do is "grab" it online so you can add your own story to its journey.

Step 1. Get the Tracking Number

In order to log your find and "grab" the Travel Bug, you first need to locate the Bug's tracking number. The number is normally on the dog tag that is attached to the item, or, in the case of Geocoins, is stamped on the item somewhere. Make sure to write this number down before dropping the item in another cache. You'll need it to locate and "grab" the Bug online.

Step 2. Visit the Travel Bug's Page

Each Travel Bug has its own web page. To visit the Bug's page, either go to the cache page for the geocache where you found the Bug and look for the Trackable in the inventory list, or visit the Travel Bug home page and use the search tool. To use the search tool, enter the tracking number in the supplied box and click the search button.

Step 3. Found it? Log it!

Once you reach the Travel Bug listing, you will need to write a log to let the owner know that you found it. By logging the find you are also 'grabbing' the Travel Bug and putting it in your account's online inventory. This will ultimately allow you to drop the Travel Bug in another cache.

If the Travel Bug is listed as being in a cache, you will have two options, retrieving it or grabbing it. If you took it from the cache in which it is listed, choose to {{{___Question_#1___}}} it. If you took the Travel Bug from elsewhere, choose to {{{___Question_#2___}}} it. Both logs require the tracking number, so keep the tracking number handy for the Bug you plan to log.

Once you have successfully grabbed or retrieved the Travel Bug, it will remain in your online inventory until someone else grabs it from you or you place it in a cache.

Dropping off a Travel Bug

Once you log that you have retrieved or grabbed a Travel Bug, you can drop it into a cache. The cache listing acts as a virtual container allowing you to indicate that you have placed the Travel Bug in the physical cache.

If the Travel Bug has a goal, please try to follow the goal as best as you can. If the goal is to move the Travel Bug to the west coast, don't put the travel bug in a cache farther east.

Step 1. Visit the Cache Listing

Visit the cache listing for the cache in which you placed the Travel Bug. If you already logged your find, don't panic! You can still post another log note.

Step 2. Visit the "log a cache" Page

As you normally log a find, click on the link to log the cache. You will need to log in first.

Step 3. Select the travel bugs to drop off

After entering the text for your find, scroll down to see a list of Travel Bugs in your inventory. Using the dropdown menu, select either "{{{___Question_#3___}}}" to leave a travel bug in the cache, or "{{{___Question_#4___}}}" to record a visit while still retaining possession of the travel bug. Once you are ready, click the button to submit your log.

This is my home cache, so a couple notes to read
************************************************
* We love to meet fellow geocachers! You are welcome to come to the front door and ring the Doorbell while you are here, and if we are home, we will come out for a visit, and to take some pictures together.
* Please feel free to take and post pictures of your visit to the cache page for everyone to see!
* Ours is the gravel driveway, please pull in and park in the driveway, off to the left side, so we can get by if we need to get in or out while you are visiting.
* When you go to leave, drive to the back, where there is room to turn around, so you do not have to back out onto the busy street. (Our cars are parked back there, and are both trackable, see back window for code to discover them)
* Our neighbors are aware of the cache, so it is safe to say hello, and be friendly, however he is very picky about his lawn, so be sure to pull into the GRAVEL DRIVEWAY, not paved, and stay in our yard (the one with the big Wishing Well)
* You are looking for a Wishing Well. If you cannot find it, please leave your GPS on the front porch, and find another hobby. You may also want to look into getting a seeing-eye dog.
* This cache is a Letterbox Hybrid, so there is a specially labelled lock-n-lock inside with a stamp, this stamp is to be left in the cache, it is not a trade item! for more information on letterboxing:
