The 1967 Gold Cup was run back in Seattle, Washington and was won with an average speed of 101.484 MPH. Bill Schumacher was a new driver to the boat Miss Bardahl, as the long time driver Ron Musson had lost his life racing the Miss Bardahl in 1966. The 1968 race came back to Detroit and was once again won by Schumacher in Miss Bardhal with the average speed of 108.173 MPH. In 1968 found bad weather in Detroit the first time the Gold Cup was attempted and had to return in September. The Fastest boat in June was Miss Eagle Electric, in the September this boat wrecked, killing local driver Colonel Warner Gardner.
