A letter from the President of the HMMH Club – WNY Chapter:
My dear Western New Yorkers, welcome to the He-Man Micro Haters
Club!
This cache was devised as a result of one too many micro caches
in alleys, parking lots and guardrails. It was such lackluster
scenery that caused us to say to ourselves, “Selves, we need to get
back to the root of what geocaching is all about…..right after a
sandwich!”
Well, following lunch, we hopped to it and here is our creation
- The He-Man Micro Haters Club! The point of this silly geo-club is
to poke a little fun at micros (read that as: "We’re joking around
folks, don't go wigging out here!" Hahaha). As such, this cache
will offer you a long multi-hide hike through the woods of the Erie
County Forestry. While enjoying your hike in these gorgeous woods
please keep in mind that most of the cache legs can be traveled to
via marked paths, old logging trails, and even the occasional
life-saving deer superhighway. As such we suggest taking note of
the trail maps located at several of the entrances to the forestry
so you won’t miss an inch of exquisiteness. As seems to be the
norm, the reception in the forestry is spotty, so great care has
been taken to ensure the cords are as accurate as possible (so give
your GPS the opportunity to settle down before initiating your
search). Finally – please know that at no time will any of the legs
lead you into, and or through, private property.
Additionally, while seeking (and hopefully finding) the assorted
legs of this multi, please take great care in preserving the stages
for future cache finders. And, as always, please re-hide each of
the stages better than when you found it - make the next cacher
have as challenging and fulfilling a journey as you did (because
that's what caching is all about)!
***The He-Man Micro Hater Club – WNY Chapter:
Super-Informative “Fine Print”***
Okay – so those oversensitive to the plight of the teeny-weenie
cache hides may not get such a chuckle out of this one as some of
the ‘ammo can in the woods’ enthusiasts, but truly, the title of
this cache is not meant to bash all micro caches. Everyone has done
a micro or two that was pure brilliance and to this day gets
included in our list of fondest geo-stories. We encourage anyone
and everyone to come and enjoy this cache, regardless if you love
little caches or not. We just wanted to have a little fun ribbing
them, while offering you a rigorous hike in a beautiful
atmosphere.
Caching truly has evolved as a sport of tastes, and those of us
at the HMMH Club understand and welcome this. Our main goal is to
encourage cachers to take the opportunity to spend a little time
putting together a thoughtful and enjoyable cache that will take us
(the geo-community) on an inspiring adventure to a delightful and
interesting location.
(And of course, picking out a snappy title for your cache never
hurt either!)
From all of us at the HMMH Club, we hope you have an amazing
journey, and that each and every one of your cache finds are as
awesome as the places you visit – Enjoy!!!
Sincerely,
Szuchie
