There are 10 stages before the final cache. I know it looks overwhelming, but each stage can be found along Mt. Vernon Road east of Highway 13. This multicache can be accomplished in an hour or less. This little tour was assembled by the Mt. Vernon Solar Tourist Society 2001.
Each stage corresponds to one of the 9 planets, Pluto is still included, in our solar system and the sun. There is a plaque at each location with information that will lead you to the final cache. The initial coordinates will lead you to Pluto. You can do this in any order, but with gas prices "skyrocketing" I suggest you blast off at Pluto. If you are already in Mt. Vernon you could launch at the Sun. The following questions will be in order beginning at Pluto and traveling toward the Sun. The distance between each stage/planet is noted on each plaque.
1)A.5 miles to the sun. B.07 miles to Neptune.
2)Length of its year:16C Earth Years
3)the surface temperature is consistantly minus 38D degrees Fahrenheit. In 1E81, Uranus became the first planet to be discovered with the aid of a telescope.
4).K0 miles to Jupiter.
5)Distance from the sun G80 million miles. Length of its year:11.L8 Earth years.
6)Length of its day: 24.F Earth hours.
7)Distance from the Sun: H2.5 million miles. I66 feet to Venus.
8)Wind speeds on Venus often approach J30 miles per hour.
9)Length of its Year: 8M.9 Earth days.
10)yet they took about N Million years to escape from the Sun's core.
Final coordinates are: North AB CD.EFG West HI JK.LMN
