Geocache Description:

in McKelligon Canyon. A less than 1/2 mile hike up a rocky arroyo. Approx. 200 ft. elevation gain.

This is a clear tupperware with white lid cache containing 4 AA batteries, a whistle, a small knife and a logbook and pen.

Proceed up Mc Kelligon Canyon Road all the way to the end and go around the parking circle past the shaded picnic areas and when you see a double trail to the right, park at waymark N 31.50.551 / W 106.29.433. Take the left hand trail up the hill and cross the arroyo on the natural rock dike. Stay on the left hand fork of the Arroyo and the trail that follows it up on the left hand side of the Arroyo. You will come to the place where the trail dips in and crossed the Arroyo and continues up on the right side. You will also see a cave up the arroyo intermitindtly as you wind around, It's easier walking now in the dry stream bed. When you arrive at a thicket of scrub Oak, pass it to the left and when clear of the stickeries you will be directly at the base of a rock wall. Look to the left and up and spot the twin sotols.
